Acura was named the Best Premium Brand for 2013 by ALG, which recognizes the entire Acura lineup for exceptional vehicle quality, strong brand desirability, and long-term reliability. The all-new 2013 Acura RDX performance-luxury SUV also ranked highest in the Premium Compact Utility Vehicle category. Since 2000, Acura has earned six model awards and three overall luxury brand awards from ALG.

As the leading provider of residual value information to the automotive industry, ALG's annual Residual Value Awards honor the vehicles in each industry segment that ALG predicts will retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year period.

"We are honored by ALG's selection of Acura as Best Premium Brand for long-term value which helps demonstrate what's smart about our 'smart luxury' brand values," said Michael Accavitti, vice president of National Marketing Operations for the Acura brand. "With RDX earning a best in segment award for Premium Compact Utility Vehicle, ALG is confirming what our customers have been telling us by purchasing the all-new RDX in record numbers for the past six months."

ALG determines the award winners through careful study of the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand, as well as pricing strategies are among the key factors that affect ALG's residual value forecasts.

"Acura receives the 2013 Premium Brand Residual Value Award through disciplined fleet and incentives strategies, along with intuitive packaging structure across the lineup," said Larry Dominique, President of ALG. "Acura has been bolstered with effective new products like the all-new ILX and redesigned RDX and continues to provide a strong proposition of value and luxury."

Good afternoon, everyone! We hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend! A new week has begun, and that means it is time for another Monday Maintenance Tip. Today's tip: Avoid hose hassles

Check the hoses under your hood every month or two to avoid the hassle of a broken hose while you’re on the road. With the car cool and off, squeeze the hoses. If they are hard or make a crunching sound, replace them. Ditto if they are extremely soft or sticky. With the car warm but off, examine hoses for bulges and collapsed sections. If you find any, the hose walls are weak, and it’s time to replace the hose. Never drive with a ruptured coolant hose, or you are liable to overheat the engine and damage it. Other hoses are crucial to operation of your power brakes and cruise-control systems.

Happy Monday, everyone! We’re checking in with another Monday Maintenance Tip, to remind you all to: Maintain your transmission

2012-11-19_1501
Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Change automatic transmission fluid and filter after the first 5,000 miles (8,000 km) and after every 25,000 miles (40,000 km) or two years thereafter, or as recommended in your owner’s manual. If you use your vehicle for towing, change the fluid and filter every year. For manual transmissions, change the lubricant (motor oil or gear oil, depending on the car) after the first 5,000 miles and after every 50,000 (80,000 km) thereafter. Use synthetic motor oil or gear lube for longer transmission life unless the manufacturer recommends otherwise.

Acura RLX Technology Preview

Honda_615_2012_11_12_01
With the official debut of the 2014 Acura RLX just around the corner, Acura wants the public to get excited about two new technologies that will be available on their upcoming flagship sedan. Acura’s new Precision All Wheel Steer™(PAWS) and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® systems will be showcased on the RLX to improve and enhance handling performance.

A handful of journalists from various automotive publications were recently at Honda’s testing grounds in Japan to sample both applications. The test car however was not an RLX, but a similarly sized Accord(Inspire) sedan equipped with the said technology.

Here’s Automobile Magazine‘s Jake Holmes on the Precision All Wheel Steer system:

“When you enter a corner and add steering input, there’s a miniscule pause before you feel the car tighten its line slightly as the rear wheels add more steering. It produces a sensation of rotation that gives the car a livelier feel than is typical of front-wheel-drive cars. At lower speeds, PAWS makes for easier maneuvering because of the reduced turning circle. PAWS also can correct under- or oversteer by adjusting the line of the rear wheels, which means sometimes PAWS can fix small slides without any need for the brake-based electronic stability control to activate.” - Jake Holmes, Automobile Magazine

Michael Austin of Car and Driver on Sport Hybrid SH-AWD:

“The rear motors also provide torque vectoring in corners, putting resistance on the inside wheel (which generates electricity for instantaneous use, lessening the draw on the 6.7-kWh battery) and driving the outside wheel to minimize understeer. Track performance is impressive, with instantaneous turn-in and grip that seems to transcend the abilities of the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tires. We didn’t have the chance to mess around too much, but there is no power oversteer. Jam on the gas and the car simply follows exactly where you point it with a neutral attitude.” - Michael Austin, Car and Driver.

Run Your AC In The Winter

  • To keep your car’s air-conditioning system fit for the next warm season, run it a few times throughout the winter. This will prevent moving parts in the compressor from seizing. Also, circulating the refrigerant will help keep the seals soft and pliant.

A huge thank you to the author of this tremendous review! Keep up the great work Peter!

Paragon Acura - (5) Star Review on Cars.com

  • I met Peter in late September after we went there to see some pre-owned MDXs they had on cars.com. He was very polite and patient even though we told him that we were just looking. After shopping around for a while and looking at other dealers in Jersey and even Paragon Honda, we saw another ad yesterday showing an MDX at a price we could afford. I called Peter's cell phone and he asked us to come in if we could since the car was there. We went there and he was very polite and patient again. My wife and I considered which one to buy and settled for an RDX instead at a reasonable price. Throughout all this, Peter was patient, funny, and never pressured us into getting anything. It was a pleasure to deal with him. -RafaelVar
