Paragon Honda - (5) Star Review on DealerRater

  • The car dealer had excellent knowledge on the vehicle I intially came in to buy. In the end I didn't buy the car I had my eye on, due to the fact it had been sold. With Camila's help, I was able to find an even newer, better car than I had in mind. From the intial contact with the Internet Specialist, Lucinda to the lot with Camila and the final purchasing of the car went smoothly. I thank those two for their patience (although I barely had patience because this was my first car purchase) and everyone else who worked on my car purchase. -mrxace

Paragon Acura - (4.8) Star Review on DealerRater

  • Having scheduled appointments with other dealerships in the area, I went to Paragon Acura shopping for an RDX with no intention of making a purchase that day. However, I was pleasantly surprised by the expertise and willingness of the sales staff to give me the price I asked for and with all the options I requested. I have had a lot of experience purchasing vehicles, from Toyota to BMW to Mercedes, and I can say without hyperbole that the Acura sales staff was the finest I've ever experienced. They were friendly and willful without ever behaving desperately, nor did they exude any of the vulture-like salesmanship commonly found at other dealerships. I don't have a trace of buyers remorse and I cannot recommend Paragon Acura enough. I want to thank Angela Ortiz, the internet sales manager who introduced me to Melvin Salcedo, who did a fantastic job locating the car I wanted and preparing it for delivery, and the finance director, Peter Sukhram, who went step by step in outlining the options I had in purchasing the vehicle. I also wish to thank Rachael Carhuayo, who was sweet and immensely helpful in explaining the impressive technology set in the vehicle. I must also give special mention to Rob Salameh, without whose help the deal could not have been made. He saved me a great deal of time and effort in making this purchase. An A+ experience overall. -JCFields

The reincarnation of the Acura NSX may have been spotted in Germany near the Nurbrgring!

112_0806_01zspied_acura_nsxfront_view
This prototype of what is believed to be the next Acura NSX that was recently captured prowling German city streets near the famous Nurburgring. Originally expected to debut at last fall's Tokyo Motor Show, the long-awaited second-generation of Honda's supercar was delayed, possibly due to the less-than-stellar reception the Advanced Sports Car Concept -- reportedly the initial next-gen NSX blueprint -- received at the 2007 Detroit Auto Show.

This prototype retains most of the concept's proportions, albeit with a taller, more production-realistic greenhouse and quarter-panels. Although most of the front end is covered up, it's easy to see the large grille and twin cooling ducts in the front fascia. The concept's twin-stacked exhausts remain.

The slight fold running down the side of the concept appears to have been removed in favor of a more traditional flat surface. From a rear-three-quarter perspective, the NSX doesn't look too much unlike the Nissan GT-R. Overall, at least from these first photos, it appears to be a much more conservatively-styled car than the 2007 concept.

The new NSX is expected to be powered by an all-new V-10 making around 500 horsepower. Layout should be front-engine (instead of the old car's mid-engine layout), rear-biased all-wheel drive, likely featuring a re-worked version of Honda's SH-AWD system. It should also be a 2+2 rather than a dedicated two-seater like the original. There is no word on when a production debut is to be expected, but with prototypes now running around, it shouldn't be too far off. The 2009 Tokyo show would be a good bet to see some sort pre-production version.

2012 Acura RL delivers stunning performance and technology

2011_acura_rl_01

The 2012 Acura RL will have an impressive list of standard features, such as a 3.7L V-6 engine with VTEC valvetrain operation, Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, sleek aerodynamic body, leather interior, power moonroof, Bose audio system and even more. The 2012 Acura RL will be extremely competitive luxury sedan as it will deliver exceptional luxury, style and performance.

The new Acura RL will be available in three trim levels, RL, RL with Technology Package, and RL with Advance Package. Additional standard features will include a Sequential Sport Shift 6-speed automatic transmission, power  actuated front seats, leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control system, power windows,Bluetooth connectivity and a Multi-Information Display (MID) that allows easy access to multiple electronic functions.

The RL interior features an assortment of leading-edge technologies for improving passenger and driver experience. Standard on all RL trims is a spectacular Acure/Bose 10-speaker Surround Sound System with DVD-Audio, AM/FM radio tuner,Bluetooth Audio, XM Radio along with USB port and AUX jack connectivity.

"The RL continues to set the benchmark for the innovative use of customer-relevant technology," said Jeff Conrad, vice president of Acura sales. "There aren't many cars  at any price that offer more advanced technology or drive system sophistication."

The 2012 RL with also boast an impressive powertrain which includes a 3.7-liter SOHC V-6 engine that develops 300 horsepower and 271 lb-ft of torque. It will feature innovative VTEC® valvetrain system for both the intake and exhaust valves, a high compression ratio, along with a special dual-stage magnesium intake manifold that enables the intake to function as a single- or dual-plenum manifold design based on engine operating parameters. The RL engine meets the latest EPA TIER 2 - BIN 5 and CARB LEV II ULEV emissions standards.

The Sequential SportShift 6-speed automatic transmission will deliver good fuel economy for the 2012 Acural RL, as it achieves an EPA estimated city/highway/combined fuel economy of 17/24/20 mpg. The transmission is teamed with a multi-clutch torque converter that has an advanced converter lock-up assembly with multiple lock-up disks that generate nearly double the facing area of a typical torque converter. The lock-up assembly not only reduces heat build-up during operation, but also allows for lock-up activation during a much wider range of driving conditions, which is instrumental.

The Sequential SportShift 6-speed transmission can be shifted via a console mounted straight gate shifter or by FI and IndyCar style paddle shifters mounted on the back of the steering wheel.

Acura's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system will provide a thrilling driving experience. It will also handle great in even inclimate weather conditions. The SH-AWD system also utilizes torque vectoring (the increase of rotation speed of an outside rear wheel) to create a "yaw moment" to help the RL turn more effectively while under power. This type of yaw movement reduces the cornering load on the front tires which minimizes understeer, to improve handling balance and to escalate total cornering grip.

Acura engineers gave the RL a rigid yet lightweight Advanced Compatibility Engineering (ACE) body structure. This helps the RL in it's steering and handling precision, outstanding ride quality, isolation of undesirable road inputs along with excellent safety.

The Acura RL's body is constructed primarily of high tensile strength steel, but the hood, trunk lid, front fenders and bumper beams are made of lightweight aluminum. This help reduce weight and improve overall performance. A sophisticated four-wheel independent suspension system with double-wishbone (front) and multi-link (rear) architecture, isolated front and rear subframes, large diameter stabilizer bars and heavy-duty steering rack components works in concert with the rigid unit body construction to complete the RL's chassis layout. Many suspension and frame components are made of Aluminum, which makes the RL lighter for improved performance, better fuel economy and more supple suspension action.

The 2012 RL sits on 18x8-inch diameter 15-spoke aluminum wheels which are matched with performance-minded Michelin Pilot all-season tires. The wheels use resonator wheel technology and add a look of visual sophistication, while also delivering mechanical sophistication.

In an effort to quell road noise transmitted to the RL's cabin, the unique noise reducing wheel uses a polypropylene Helmholtz resonator that encircles the center portion of the inside of the wheel. Such resonator wheel technology significantly lowers middle frequency noise (between 100 and 500 hertz).

The brakes are a four-wheel disc brake system utilizing 4-piston aluminum front brake calipers matched with 12.6-inch diameter ventilated front brake rotors. At the rear, 12.2-inch solid brake rotors team with large single-piston calipers. The brake system also features four-channel anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD) and Brake Assist. All this ensures responsiveness and predictability.

When equipped with the Advance Package, linked to the RL's braking system is Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) that uses a grille-mounted millimeter-wave radar unit to monitor the distance between the RL and the vehicle directly ahead. ACC can regulate the RL's speed to maintain a pre-set following distance interval between it and the vehicle directly ahead. If following distance becomes too close, the ACC system warns the driver and applies the brakes if necessary.

Acura's Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), could be a potential life saver. CMBS uses millimeter-wave technology and monitors the distance and closing rate between the RL and the vehicle directly in front of it. CMBS then uses the information to continuously calculate the likelihood of a frontal collision as well as to alert the driver in different stages of urgency. If the likelihood of a collision significantly increases, CMBS will take actions such as to apply the brakes and pre-tension the front seatbelts. Unfortunately CMBS is only available with the RL trim-line with Advance Package includes .

The Technology Package features Active Front Lighting System (AFS) for the Xenon High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights that can swivel up to 12 degrees laterally in response to vehicle speed and steering wheel input. When cornering, the inboard headlight turns to illuminate the road through the corner, greatly improving visibility and minimizing blind spots.

Inside, the 2012 Acura RL features an elegantly styled interior that includes leather-trimmed heated front seats, comfortable space for rear seat passengers, plenty of storage areas and easy-to-use functionality. Like the driver's seat, the passenger front seat has 10-way power adjustability. As part of the Technology Package, the front seats incorporate six levels of heating and ventilation and the steering wheel and shift knob are trimmed with burlwood trim. The Advance Package adds maple wood trim.

New Acura NSX Could be Unveiled as Early as the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show

Honda-hsc-0
[2003 Honda HSC Concept pictured above]

Finally, Honda has stopped beating around the bush and has come out in the open about the successor to the NSX, revealing more details about its forthcoming sports car.

The bottom line is that: the new NSX is coming; it will be a real sports car in the vein of the original (that is, lightweight and easy to drive); it will probably use next-generation hybrid technology; its unveiling is imminent and it could go on sale much sooner than anyone suspected.

The head of Honda’s R&D department, Mibe Toshihiro, confirmed to British magazine Autocar that the company is already working on a flagship sports car modeled after the original NSX.

The news comes only a few weeks after Honda’s CEO, Takanobu Ito, said that the new NSX is indeed being developed, but would be quite different in character to its lightweight predecessor.

Toshihiro’s statement does not necessarily contradict that of his boss: “President Ito has already mentioned a new NSX, and we have looked at that in the R&D department”, he said.

“We are now at a point where we can consider the next generation of electric and hybrid vehicles. It would be an interesting project: electric or hybrid vehicles can be as fun as economical. I cannot say more than that,” Toshihiro added.

According to reports, a thinly disguised concept version of the new Honda (Acura in the US) NSX could be unveiled at next month’s Tokyo Motor Show, with the production model going on sale as early as next year.

The same sources stressed, however, that the schedule may change since Honda, along with all other Japanese car manufacturers, is still facing supply problems after the March earthquake despite production capability of its domestic plants returning to normal.

Just a Simple Arithmetic Problem, or is it? 2+1=???

Acura-concept-img1_pq73p_5965
If you said Acura's bold new concept car then you are one of the few to guess correctly!

Acura 2+1 concept from designer Leon Paz is a design aimed at the youth. The aggressively designed concept looks at the people who would like a performance like the NSX, but cannot afford it. This concept will bridge the gap to provide NSX-like performance at more affordable costs. The aggressively-attractive concept is a great design, and built with focus squarely on the performance.

Two (5) Star reviews on DealerRater!

  • My wife and I visited this dealership with the intention of looking at an RDX. It was late on a Sunday afternoon and all 2011 and 2012 RDX models were gone. We were assisted by Yizzel who is extremely knowledgeable about the Acura line as well as cars in general. SHe showed us a comparable 2009 and invited us back at our convenience for a test drive. As we realized by our return that our desires had changed to an MDX. Yizzel was more than accommodating and allowed us to test both. We decided on the MDX. Yizzel and her sales manager worked with us to find the right fit and we purchased a certified pre owned MDX 2009. We were very comfortable throughout the process and never felt pressured. We would recommend Yizzel and the team at Paragon to any and all future purchasers. In addition I would be remiss not to mention a feature that Paragon had which is lacking at all other dealerships. Wendy was the representative who actually spent the time to give us a personalized tutorial of the vehicle and all of it's amenities. I have never heard of such a program on a new car and they did this for a used one as well. We were beside ourselves and able to leave the dealership with a feeling of comfort because someone took the time to familiarize us with our new baby. WOW! What a concept and Kudos to the entire team at Paragon. You have earned my business hands down. Other dealerships should visit your establishment and aspire to be all that you are. Kudos! To all.and thank you especially Yizzel and Wendy!
  • I saw the car on line, talk to Peter we made the deal. I flew in from Fl, The manger had someone to pick me up at the airport. He also had the pads an rotors replaced on the car for my ride home. WOW!!! great service, great deal.

Two Positive Reviews on DealerRater -

  • It was a great experience from start to finish. I leased a 2012 Acura RDX from Paragon. I knew exactly what I wanted and at what price. Yizzel did not waste any time in getting started and then following through everything that was required till the delivery of the vehicle. I had to go through many rounds of negotiations, but in the end got close enough to the deal I was looking for. I bought the vehicle the same day. Their follow up after delivery has also been great so far. I haven't gotten the car serviced yet; will write a review about that as well soon. - ashutosharya

New Acura NSX Reportedly Under Development with Plug-in Hybrid Drivetrain

2005-honda-nsx-above-623x389
After years of off-and-on rumors about whether Honda would build a successor to the NSX supercar, it now seems that such a car is under development. At the Frankfurt Motor Show and several other recent events, Honda CEO Takanobu Ito has confirmed that his company is hard at work developing a “sports car like the NSX.” A new report from Motor Trend reveals that the upcoming car could have as much as 400 hp and offer all-wheel drive.

Motor Trend posits that the new NSX would follow in the footsteps of the Honda Dualnote, a futuristic concept car unveiled at the 2001 Tokyo Motor Show. The Dualnote had forward-thinking features like in-car email access, pedestrian-detection cameras, and touch-opening doors. More importantly the concept car used a mid-mounted 3.5-liter V-6 engine to power the rear wheels, and an electric motor to power the front wheels. The combination was claimed to yield 400 hp and fuel economy of 42 mpg.

The new Honda supercar will follow that strategy, with a high-revving V-6 displacing 3.5 to 3.7 liters powering the rear wheels. Out front, twin electric motors will power the front wheels with energy from a lithium-ion battery pack. The car could be recharged at home, like a plug-in hybrid.

Motor Trend’s sources say that the drivetrain will produce an incredibly powerful new car, although Honda apparently is not targeting an all-out Nürburgring lap-time machine. The body will be made of aluminum, as with the first NSX, helping keep weight low.

Styling, however, still remains a secret. Although many suggest the new car could resemble the concept readied for use in the forthcoming Avengers superhero movie, Acura representatives insist the car is but a one-off styling exercise for the movie. We can only hope some of the cues do work their way into the finished NSX.

  • I had a great experience at Paragon Acura leasing a new MDX. The pricing was great and they worked with me to find the best deal. What was most impressive was the delivery when Wendy took the time to fully explain all the car features. At the same time my kids were treated to cookies to keep them patient. This dealer knows how to take care of a customer and make the car purchase a great experience. No wonder I hear people come from outside the tri-state area to buy there. A great combination of a fair price and outstanding service. - Robruiz
